We picked this gem up from plantsman Barry Yinger, sans name, before he closed Asiatica Nursery, and are glad to now be able to share it. Boehmeria ‘Glow Light’ eventually makes a 3′ tall x 6′ wide (we’re guessing on the mature size) deciduous perennial clump of fleshy upright stalks, each clothed in fuzzy golden leaves. For us, Boehmeria ‘Glow Light’ has thrived in half-day sun as well as light shade. The fuzzy, tan, pipe-cleaner-like flowers that adorn the upper half of the plant in summer are…well, unusual. If you have a part of the garden that needs the golden fuzzies, then the bright yellow foliage of Boehmeria ‘Glow Light’ may be for you.
