Cherry Frost™Climbing Rose Care
Plant Cherry Frost™ in a full-sun site with well-draining and average-textured soil. Add a slow-release fertilizer formulated for roses to the soil before planting. Look for an NPK ratio of 1-2-1. Plant container-grown roses at the same depth as they were growing in the pot, no deeper. Keep the plant well watered until the roots establish. Roses require moist soil and benefit from regular mulching with organic material to help the soil retain moisture.
Pruning climbing roses is not complicated. Cherry Frost™ blooms on old or new wood and can be pruned once a year if necessary. Late winter is the ideal time to prepare these roses for the new growing season. Prune away any dead, diseased, dying, or diagonal branches. At the same time, you can tie in any new branches you want to train on a trellis. Cherry Frost™ Climbing Rose will not require extra protection in winter other than a 3-4 inch layer of shredded leaves or compost around the root zone.
