(aka: Cyclamen coum ssp. elegans) Cyclamen elegans is a relatively new cyclamen species that was once considered a subspecies of the popular Cyclamen coum. Cyclamen elegans hails from the Alborz Mountains in northern Iran and southeastern Azerbaijan, where it grows on rocky slopes in beech forests below 1,600′ elevation. In appearance, Cyclamen elegans differs from Cyclamen coum with longer, more angular leaves and longer flower petals.
