Despite the name, Eucomis ‘Mini Tuft Red’ is anything but red. This wonderful dwarf Ian Duncalfe hybrid of Eucomis vandermerwei and Eucomis zambesiaca produces compact rosettes of very wavy green leaves. Clumps of Eucomis ‘Mini Tuft Red’ are topped, starting in late June (NC), with 10″ spikes of dark wine-purple flowers…very attractive.
