Flirty Girl™ False Hydrangea-Vine (Schizophragma hydrangeoides) is a fast-growing shrub with fragrant, creamy blooms. The new growth on the vine comes in purple before turning green when it matures. The leaves turn yellow in the winter.

This elegant plant is best used growing up an East or North facing wall or in a woodland garden. The plant will produce more flowers if it gets at least some filtered sunlight. It can also be used in a container, to screen something, as a specimen, or in a landscape. It is originally from Asia and grows in zones 5a to 9b. This vine climbs by stem-borne adhesive rootlets.

This plant does much better in cool climates compared to Rose Sensation False Hydrangea-Vine. The warmer the climate, the more shade this plant will need. Especially in the afternoon during hot summer days.

Flirty Girl False Hydrangea-Vine Care

Flirty Girl™ False Hydrangea-Vine grows best in part shade to full sun. It likes rich, well-drained soil kept moist but not wet. Fertilize with a slow-release fertilizer formulated for shrubs and trees at the start of the growing season.

This plant does not usually need pruning but can be trimmed in late winter. If you choose to grow this as a shrub, then pruning will be required.

Flirty Girl False Hydrangea-Vine Spacing

Flirty Girl™ False Hydrangea-Vine can eventually reach 40-50 feet tall and 6-9 feet wide. To quickly cover walls or arbors, plant 6-9 feet apart.
