Hosta ‘You’re So Vein’ is a fascinating 2016 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction from a cross we made in 2003 between a Hosta longipes hybrid and Hosta ‘Blue Mouse Ears’. Hosta ‘You’re So Vein’ forms a vigorous but slowly offsetting 6″ tall x 15″ wide clump of dark green, cardboard-like, 3.5″ wide leaves. The leaves emerge with unique grey green vein highlights…a trait we’ve never seen this dramatic on a hosta. The dwarf clumps are topped in early July (NC) with 7″ spikes of medium lavender flowers.
