Iris unguicularis ‘Diana Clare’ is a vigorous and free-flowering winter iris, discovered as a self-sown seedling with unknown parentage. It stands out for its strong growth and abundance of deep violet blue blooms, reminiscent of Iris unguicularis ‘Mary Barnard’, but with a flair all its own.
Blooming freely from October through April, this hardy evergreen perennial brings much-needed colour and cheer to winter gardens. Its slender grassy foliage forms neat clumps, and the lightly scented flowers are best appreciated when picked for a vase indoors.
