Care
General Maintenance: Pinch off the gangly growth while the plant is young to encourage thicker, stronger branches. To keep it growing straight, a stake is recommended.
Temperature: Dipladenias like it hot. Room temperatures are perfect for growing them throughout the year, but they can thrive in temperatures between 18C (during the night) to 28C.
Light: This plant requires bright, indirect sunlight. Direct sun will burn the leaves and flowers. The flowers grow best with a lot of light and will grow small or malformed in too little light.
Watering: Water deeply once the top 2 inches of soil is dry. Do not let them fully dry out, but don’t overwater.
Soil: A well-draining soil blend with a neutral pH balance will allow these plants to thrive.
Fertilizer: Fertilize with liquid plant food once every 3-4 weeks during the growing season (April – August.
