As a result of our extensive phormium trials, we have begun to offer the West Coast favorite, P. tenax. While most phormiums hate our humid summers and cold winters, P. tenax has now survived since 1993 in our garden, including two winters at 0 degrees F. The 6′ long by 2″ wide, medium-green, iris-like foliage will make quite a structural statement in your garden. Although our plant has yet to flower, we expect giant spikes of 15′ tall flowers…can’t wait!
