The Pink Cascade Weeping Butterfly Bush will add a welcoming purple color to any landscape. The weeping nature of this bush allows for a romantic, almost vintage look with blooms that ombre from purple to pink. It continues to bloom into the fall, adding a unique element throughout the warm season, even extending into autumn. It makes a wonderful border bush, which changes throughout the seasons, paralleling the trees as they turn to reds and oranges.

This butterfly bush is hardy in zones five through ten. It is resistant to deer and rabbits, while also offering bees and butterflies a supportive environment. It is also a friend to hummingbirds, both for habitat and nectar within the bloom. It provides a wonderful scent to accompany summer blooms, making it beneficial in multiple senses. This bush is relatively low maintenance, but keep in mind it is very large so is more likely appropriate as a focal point for landscape or border, rather than as a container plant.

Pink Cascade Butterfly Bush Care

The Pink Cascade Weeping Butterfly Bush is a rapidly growing shrub. This bush will thrive in full sun exposure. It prefers an average amount of water, in well drained soil but is actually particularly drought tolerant. A controlled release fertilizer would be appropriate in the spring, to revitalize the blooming potential for the summer.

It’s beneficial to prune this bush in late winter/early spring. It has a tendency to get quite large, so pruning prior to leaf out would help contain it slightly.

Pink Cascade Butterfly Bush Spacing

As mentioned previously, this bush grows rapidly and can be quite large if not pruned. It has the potential to grow five to six feet high, and should be spaced five to six feet apart as well.
