Give these cherries a bright, open location with at least 6–8 hours of sun. They perform best in well-drained loam with a slightly acidic to neutral pH (about 6.2–7.0). Water deeply the first 1–2 seasons to establish; afterward, soak during dry spells from bloom through fruit fill.
Mulch 2–3 inches over the root zone (keep mulch a few inches off the trunks) to moderate soil moisture and temperature. Feed in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer. Prune in late winter: remove dead or crossing branches, keep the interior airy, and tip back overly vigorous shoots to maintain manageable height.
