The Sageleaf Willow, or Salix candida, is a fast-growing spring bloomer with unique, textured foliage. White and green catkin flowers have a fuzzy appearance and are offset by the thick, narrow leaves with rounded ends. The foliage is a grayish-green hue and has a felted appearance. The springtime flowers add texture and visual interest, but the foliage is the bigger draw and will continue to provide color through fall.

This perennial is native to wetlands in North America, so it is a good choice to grow along a pond, riverbank, or a naturally damp area.
