From Bill Lamack of Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve in Pennsylvania comes an attractive, light pink flowered form of the typically scarlet-red Silene virginica that Bill named for his niece Emma. The small green rosettes give rise to 15″ tall floral sprays of 1″ dianthus-like flowers in May (NC). Silene virginica needs well-drained, dry soil. The stem cells were extracted before they were cloned, so there is no medicinal value…garden value only.
